Oil painting on canvas, painted by an unknown artist in 1905 according to the project and on the orders of Anton Disler (1880-1935), owner of the Hotel Rütli in Lucerne and founder of the Hotel International au Lac in Lugano, inaugurated in 1906.
The painting was on the stairs of the Hotel Rütli and served as a promotional poster for the new hotel opened south of the Alps.
In the years 1987-89, Giulio Schmid, Anton Disler's nephew, with great personal commitment and after 140 hours of work by a restorer, was able to take possession of the painting and valorise it in Lugano.
