Ten years of commitment to air-conditioning 100 venues
Freshness that travels through walls
Between 1999 and 2009, the Schmid family gradually undertook the challenge of air-conditioning the Hotel International au Lac. Four cooling units were installed on the rooftop, while for the wing facing the church, an internal system was chosen, discreetly connected to an outdoor condenser hidden in the garden. The most delicate task was running the cooling pipes through walls and ceilings, reaching every room and common area without compromising the building’s historical soul.
In the images, one can see the new air-conditioning units — each weighing over 500 kg — lifted to the roof by crane in a scene almost theatrical. To share the news, special postcards were created, small ambassadors of a fresh new breeze.
